Well we all been here, during a long boring meeting or when the subject being taught is something we do not understand (or care), we tend to doze off a little and the next thing you know, your sleepy head face is on somebody’s Facebook or Insta page or worst the boss sees you snoring in the meeting and the next thing you know…..(well guess who’s meeting the boss today for some lecturing time).
So to spare yourself from these embarrassing moments, here are some quick tips to help you pay more attention in any meetings or class :
- Take notes : When you start taking notes, you automatically seem like someone who cares about what is being discussed.
- Be Interactive : One easy way that I practice is asking questions to the presenter. Ask anything, no question is a silly question.
- Walk About : There is no rule saying you cannot stand or walk around during a class or meeting. So, if you start feeling sleepy, just stand, do a quick stretch and walk around the room, at least you are doing something instead of dozing off
- Take a Quick Break : Just take a quick bathroom break. Freshen up yourself and then join the meeting/class
- COFFEE :Self Explanatory.
So, give these a try and tell me if it helped you, I know number 5 really helps me a lot 🙂
